The residents of Russellville, a town located in Arkansas every year are used to see the Holocaust Remembrance Day. The event happens to be a peaceful one and it includes the surviving victims of the Holocaust concentration camps along with the veterans of the Second World War who war the audience about the dangers and impacts of Nazims and also give them speeches on several issues.
Every year the event so far was peaceful until this year when a group of aggressive white supremacists protestors disrupted the peaceful Remembrance Day waving anti-Semitic signs. Among the rest of the signs, one even indicated the non-existence of the Holocaust and later added that the tragedy should have happened instead.
Apart from the signs the protestors also carried a Cross as well as a big Jesus Christ Portrait. They also carried Nazi and Christian flags.
Joyce Griffis, the organizer of the event said that she was shocked by the behavior of the protestors the way they talked to them. Since the protestors were linked to a white supremacist group named as Shieldwall it indicated that must be protesting on behalf of the white supremacists.
A well-known person in the right wing, as well as the right wind watch circles and also the spokesperson of the group, known as Billy Roper, was protesting against the Anti- Defamation League. Roper considers himself to be a non-sectarian hater.
According to the information of the Southern Poverty Law Center, Roper is also linked with several white nationalist groups.
The Holocaust Remembrance Day event takes place each year and is part of the Russellville town which is privileged to have victims as old as 96 years old a witness of the liberation of Holocaust concentration camps.
