According to Pope Francis, the devil is responsible for undermining the Roman Catholic Church.

The pope is completely convinced that the Devil is to blame for the ongoing crises that have gripped the church. This includes the sexual abuse scandals and the deep divisions within the body. The pope has even asked Catholics all over the world to chant a special prayer to defeat the devil.

Ever since his election back in 2013, Pope Francis has clarified his beliefs about the devil being real. In a document, published earlier this year, the Pope mentioned Satan over a dozen times.

In that document, he stated that the devil should not be thought of as a myth, a symbol, a representation, an idea or a figure of speech. He believes that doing so will cause people to lower their guards, become careless and become more vulnerable.

Sex abuse scandals have been rocking the Roman Catholic Church one after the other. They have broken out all over the world, from Chile to Germany and the United States. At the same time, there has been increasing divisions between the liberal and conservative elements in the Church. Those divisions are getting the spotlight on social media.

It seems that Pope Francis is completely convinced about Satan being responsible for all of these crises. He has even chosen to enlist the help of St. Michael the Archangel. St. Michael’s name appears numerous times in the Holy Bible as being the leader of the angels who forced out Lucifer from Heaven.

The Pope has asked the world’s Catholics to recite a prayer to St. Michael every day after the rosary.
