Religion plays a direct role with the mindset, faith and beliefs of people and most of the developed or developing societies encourage the practice of different religious activities and rituals in one single democracy. However, the existence of religion is very important to keep its traditions, beliefs and practices alive; hence, preservation of religion becomes very important.

With the same hope of keeping their religion alive, the Jains in California gathered to discuss and spread awareness about their religion to their younger generations. It seemed that almost all the people present in the meeting was very well aware that the next eight decades of their generation depended on the handing of faith to their successors or the younger generations including the millennials and Gen Z Jains.

The interesting session provided the Jains to be provided with different ways for meeting with the younger Jains including Jain Connect and Young Jains of America, one of the new programs that has been designed to help the younger Jains to make new business connections, new friends or even find a special someone.

The theme for the JAINA convention in Ontario, California was, “Jain Religion in the 21st Century” and almost 3500 Jains were present in it. Also present in the convention were popular speakers such as Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, a yogi and motivational speaker Gaur Gopal Das.

The Jain Center in Southern California was founded in 1979 and back then there were only 10 other Jain centers across the United States. Later after two years JAINA, an umbrella organization was launched. At present the umbrella organizations has about 165,000 members.
